Founded in 1989, the
Pacific Coast Air Museum
is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the acquisition, restoration, safe operation and display of historic aircraft, preserving aviation history, and providing an educational venue for students and the community.

We also honor those heroic aviators who have contributed so much to the growth and defense of our way of life.

"One seldom finds such a collection of user-friendly aircraft amidst congenial hosts and lovely wine-country weather. Learn about the vast array of educational programs, scout activities and the opportunities for birthday parties and other gatherings. Bring your family - bring the kids from school - bring the scout troop.´ll find it hard to leave."

Secretary of the Air Force

Top Gun Weekend -- F-14 Tomcat, F-16 Viper, F-5 Tiger
Top Gun Weekend: F-14A Tomcat, F-16N Viper, F-5E Tiger II

"Climb Aboard" our vintage aircraft, and learn about the history of where and how they were used from the crews who have lovingly restored them.

This month we are featuring three planes from the U.S. Navy's TOPGUN training school: the F-14 Tomcat, F-16 Viper, and F-5 Tiger. This particular F-14 was one that was used in the making of the 1986 blockbuster movie Top Gun, and you can actually sit in the cockpit! The F-16 and F-5 were also used by the TOPGUN school, though they were not designed as naval aircraft. They were flown as enemy "aggressor" airplanes because their performance closely matched the performance of the enemy planes our Navy pilots were likely to encounter. Pilots in F-14s would square off against experienced pilots in the aggressor planes, until the good guys in the F-14s learned how to beat them.

This is a rare opportunity to get a close-up look and sit in the cockpit of these historic aircraft.

Don't miss the next one!
