Founded in 1989, the
Pacific Coast Air Museum
is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the acquisition, restoration, safe operation and display of historic aircraft, preserving aviation history, and providing an educational venue for students and the community.

We also honor those heroic aviators who have contributed so much to the growth and defense of our way of life.

"I hope my neighbors - not only in Sonoma County, but from across the USA - will come visit the Pacific Coast Air Museum. We have a unique collection of warbirds, spyplanes and other aircraft - all beautifully maintained and preserved by a dedicated crew of retired Air Force mechanics, airline pilots and museum volunteers. Every visitor loves the Pacific Coast Air Museum; you´ll find it hard to leave."
Tom Reed
Secretary of the Air Force

WANTED!

Are you a social person? Do you enjoy being around historic aircraft? Bringing a smile to a child's face? Learning about history first hand? Being a part of history in the making?

If you answered yes to at least two of the questions, this is for you! The Gift Shop is looking for volunteers who would like to help out.

A lot of you may have the idea that helping in the Gift Shop is not as exciting and fun as helping out in other areas of the museum…i.e. aircraft crew, however it can be just as exciting and fun, if not more at times.

The docents in the Gift Shop are the first and the last people our visitors see when visiting our museum. When a visitor comes in the door, a lot of them are there for personal reasons…i.e., dad or grandfather flew or worked on one of the planes, or better yet, they flew one of the planes themselves! They usually have a story to tell…just ask.

You would be amazed at some of the stories they have to tell. One was a gentleman who served on 6 aircraft carriers, 4 of which were sunk, and one that was involved in the search for Amelia Earhart! Imagine, to be talking with a man who was actually out flying, looking for perhaps the most famous lost aviator of all time!

Don’t worry if you have no retail experience. we will train you. It’s really pretty easy.

If you can give one or two weekend days a month, please contact Mike Lynch at 707-575-7900.

Email: Operations Director at 707-575-7900 or Email: Christina Olds.
