Member Meeting - Weds, June
18th, 7:00pm, SCOE - The speaker is Charley Taylor, a museum member
and our brand new speaker coordinator, a Naval Aviator who served 25
years of active duty. He will be speaking about the A-6, its role in
combat in Vietnam, the 80's and Desert Storm. We'll have a T-6
flight in the raffle, but you need to be at the meeting to win!!
Air Show Planning Meeting - Weds, June 18th, 6:00pm, SCOE -
The Air Show is just two months away and this is an important
meeting if you have anything to do with Air Show planning.
P-38 "Returns to Santa Rosa" Reception - To celebrate the
return of the P-38 Lightning to Santa Rosa for this year's Air Show,
and to help raise money to bring it here, we're having private
reception from 5:00-7:30pm, on Weds, Aug 14, at the KaiserAir-Santa
Rosa Jet Center facility. You'll get to see, touch and feel a P-38,
take your picture with a P-38, talk to the pilot, sip some wine,
participate in a champagne toast, and snack on finger food.
Attendance is limited to 200, tickets are $25 each, and they are
going fast. Dave will have P-38 reception tickets at this week's
Member Meeting, so if you want to go, get your tickets early while
they are still available.
"Climb Aboard", Newcomer's Orientation and P-40 Static Display
- This coming weekend is a big one at your Pacific Coast Air Museum.
Our IL-14 Crate will be open to climb aboard. Our young crew is also
having a fundraiser bake sale Saturday and a BBQ fundraiser on
Sunday. Also on Sat, our local EAA Chapter 124 is having its annual
"Young Eagles" free flights to youngsters program from 8:00am -
11:00am. A beautifully restored WWII P-40 will be on static display
on Saturday only. And Newcomer's Orientation is scheduled for Sat at
11:00am - - come out and learn all about your Air Museum and the
opportunities that abound.
