E-SCOOP

The Electronic Newsletter of the
Pacific Coast Air Museum

To all our museum members - - many of you know that last weekend we lost Al Cathcart, one of our longest standing volunteers, the only crew chief our T-37 "Tweet" ever had, a valuable member of our "Tuesday/Thursday Gang" and a truly good guy. I miss him dearly.

One of Al's fondest dreams was that a patio be built during his lifetime. His dream came through with the construction of the beautiful East Patio, right next to Al's "Tweet".

His family was extremely gracious in asking that donations in Al's memory be made to the Pacific Coast Air Museum Building Fund.

A celebration of Al's life is being planned for Saturday, July 12th, at the Pacific Coast Air Museum (his daughter told me that was Al's desire). We will send everyone details as to time, etc, when plans are finalized.

Today's Press Democrat has a very nice article about Al. Unfortunately the article stated that the memorial is this coming Thursday, June 12th - - that is incorrect. The celebration of Al's life is scheduled for Saturday, July 12th.

We miss Al a ton at the museum. I think of him every time I look at his T-37 "Tweet", every time I am in the crew lounge where he sat and whenever I walk onto the East Patio. He did a lot for his beloved Pacific Coast Air Museum, and in turn, for all of us who knew him.

Dave
